Hunting success starts long before hunt commences. Rigorous hunt planning: do your due diligence, hunting knowledge of species, wildlife population studies, animal patterns, logistics in/out of hunt area, review record books (SCI, B&C, P&Y), hunting regulations, topo map reading, check with area biologist, complete gear checklist, physical conditioning, quality gear, outdoor skills, satellite/InReach communications, first aid/safety skills, weather knowledge, coordinate with taxidermist and trophy meat processor, attention to details, shooting ability—practice, practice…with extensive hunt planning, your luck will change--and you'll become a skilled hunter.
