Limited Draw

Alaska offers some of the best big game hunting opportunities in the world through the ADF&G limited drawing permit hunts.  ADF&G conducts the annual online draw lottery, November 1 - December 15.

We specialize in two of most sought after trophy hunts on Kodiak through the limited draw permit hunts.  They are:

1.  Kodiak Brown Bear, Fall Hunt #:  DB103 or Spring Hunt #:  DB133, Area:  South Ugak Bay.

2.  Mountain Goats, Hunt #:  DG476, Area:  Kiliuda Bay.

Where are we located.  Our Kodiak hunting area is a short 20-minute flight southwest of the city of Kodiak to our private property where we stage our hunts.  Our hunt area is over 300 square miles of prime wilderness hunting area for Kodiak Brown Bear near South Ugak Bay; and Mountain Goat hunts between Kiliuda Bay and Ugak Bay.

How to Apply:  Here’s our step-by-step approach to apply.

Step 1.  Review current Alaska Drawing Permit Hunt Supplement on ADF&G website:
https://www.adfg.alaska.gov.

Step 2.  Mark your calendar!  ADF&G online Draw Permit Applications are accepted:  November 1 - December 15, 5:00pm (AKST).

Step 3. Guide-Client Agreement required.  ADF&G requires nonresident clients to complete a Guide-Client Agreement before submitting your Draw Permit application online.  Clients should email a scanned or photo copy to our email address:  [email protected] or mail to Mike Odin’s Alaska Adventures LLC, P.O. Box 772682, Eagle River, AK 99577.  Our Guide-Client Agreements are provided below.  Keep a copy for your files.

Step 4.  Purchase Alaska Non-resident Hunting License.  ADF&G requires the applicant (at the time they apply for their draw permits) to purchase a Alaska nonresident hunting license and pay the entry fees for each hunt choice. The license fees and entry fees are nonrefundable.  A nonresident hunting license is $160.00; nonresident alien hunting license is $630 and entry fees are $5 each, maximum of six choices.  Go to ADF&G online Store Purchase page, https://www.adfg.alaska.gov/Store/ and add current hunting license to your cart if you don’t already have one (if you have a current Alaska hunting license, you will add that number to your personal information in the Alaska Store site).

Step 5.  In the same ADF&G online Store Purchase page click on Drawing Permit Hunts.

Step 6.  In the area under draw choices choose:  Individual or Party (two hunters).  Recommend hunters select Individual to increase your opportunity to win a draw permit.

Step 7.  For Kodiak Brown Bear Draw Permit:  Under species for Brown Bear, choose either Fall Kodiak Brown bear hunt number or Spring Kodiak Brown Bear hunt number as follows:

Fall Kodiak Brown Bear permit, October 25 – November 25, Hunt #:  DB103

Spring Kodiak Brown Bear permit, April 1 - May 15, Hunt #:  DB133.

Step 8.  For Mountain Goat draw permit on Kodiak:
Under species, choose Mountain Goat with the choice of hunt number provided below.  You can apply for the maximum of 6 choices for Mountain Goats.

Mountain Goat permit on Kodiak, August 20 - October 25, Hunt #:  DG476.

Draw Results will be announced online the third Friday of February.
