Sport Fishing – Kodiak, Alaska
Kodiak Island is sport fishing paradise! Kodiak is well-known for it’s world-class fishing! This is a true Alaska wilderness experience: fabulous freshwater and saltwater fishing, abundant wildlife viewing, beautiful scenery, and pristine wilderness. Access to the main lodge is by a short float plane trip from Kodiak to Ugak Bay. The lodge manager and guides have over 30 years of experience and will get you on the fish! Your daily options are: freshwater stream fishing, saltwater deep-sea fishing, wildlife photo safari or just relaxing.
Freshwater: Kodiak’s remote streams and rivers provide anglers with the rare opportunity to catch multiple species in the same day. Depending on the season, possible species include: Chinook (King) Salmon, Coho (silvers) Salmon, Sockeye (Red) Salmon, Chum (Dog) Salmon, Pink (Humpy) Salmon, Dolly Varden Trout, Rainbow Trout, and Steelhead.
Saltwater: Fishing starts directly out the front door of the lodge in Ugak Bay. From huge Halibut, ling cod, or sea bass to aggressive Coho (Silvers) Salmon you’ll love our saltwater fishing!
Wildlife Photo Safari: Also, bring your camera for wildlife photo opportunities of Humpback and Orca whales, Mountain goats, bison, Sitka black-tailed deer, fox, otters, seals and sea lions, eagles, puffins, thousands of shore birds, waterfowl, and of course the giant Kodiak bear. We keep our maximize group size to six guests and tailor our daily trips to accommodate the wishes of everyone.
