Alaska Trophy Moose

Alaska Trophy Moose hunts take place in Western Alaska in the heart of prime big-moose country. Alaska-Yukon moose are the largest antlered animal in the world. Until you see one of these gigantic beasts on the hoof, it is hard to imagine just how immense they truly are. Hunting takes place near our wilderness cabin on the south fork of the Hoholitna River in GMU 19B where many record moose have been harvested. The average antler spread is 65 inches in this area with some monsters over 70 inches. Guided hunts are from base camps or spike camps on or near river corridors at 500 to 1,500 feet in some alpine “hotspots” and valleys with high moose mating activity. Other species available are: Grizzly, Caribou, Black Bear, Wolves and Wolverines.

Rates: : $11,800 per person (2X1); 7-10 days

Dates: Sep 5-15 (hunt), GMU 17; Sep 5-20 (hunt), GMU 19

Includes: Guide service, all meals, in-field accommodations, and trophy care.

Transportation: Fly to Anchorage, Alaska and met at airport. Recommend clients plan on one night hotel stay before and after the hunt in Anchorage. A short charter is required to Port Alsworth or McGrath, approximately $300 charter RT. Additional fee for antlers and $.60 per lb. for additional equipment above 50 lbs. and trophy meat.

License: Purchase license and tags online at Alaska Dept. Fish and Game website: www.admin.adfg.state.ak.us/license/. Or, purchase upon arrival in Anchorage. License: $85 (nonresident). Moose tag: $400.

Hunt does not include: Airfare/charter, license/tags, and shipping of trophy or meat out of camp.

*NOTE: Prices are subject to change due to increase costs in transportation, insurance, and ADF&G requirements. Clients will be notified of any changes before submitting a deposit on hunt. License and tag fees are slightly higher for nonresident alien clients.
